We had a lot of fun sailing this past weekend... The water was fantastic and the weather absolutely perfect. Smith's Lake is in a beautiful region - about 2.5 hours from where we live, but still worth the trip!!
wow! what a place ! Heron Island is one of the 3 only coral islands in the world, right on the Great Barrier Reef. I was blown away by the amount of fish, sharks (not the dangerous types), turtles and wild life in general. The Eco resort there is really commited to the "eco" portion of their responsibility, and University of Queensland also has a research center in place, with PhDs and students to ensure all is properly taken care of. Fabulous place for the kids - the island is only 1.8 Km in area, so they disappear to snorkel, play tennis, discover the treasures of the coral reefs and we could enjoy our time as well knowing that they could not really get lost.
