Trendsetter…

in blog, card of the week, may 2012

I was perusing today and came across a blog talking about the latest trends and insights from the craft world (actually, kind of aggrandizing, but nevertheless…) – the article talked about how wood veneer banners are the latest and greatest. So happens, a couple of days ago I came across a few sheets of wood veneer and stored on the back of my mind the need to come up with something to use them…

And voila!

The interesting things is – I’ve had the veneer, the punch and the stamp set for more than a year… lol

Stamping on wood veneer requires Stazon, mind you…

so happens that I also learned a thing or two when photographing clear-embossed images. They shine!!

I used the same stamps to stamp the banners and the background…

and of course, just *had* to add a little heart to brighten the whole monochromatic theme…

I so love this card… it’s simple, the contrast is great, and it delivers the message. Twiterpatted inspired -the chevron on the bottom is so adorable!!

Adding Crystal Effects to the red portion of the flowers makes the contrast even more noticeable – and adds a little reflective surface too.
